Good morning heavenly Father,
good morning Lord Jesus,
good morning Holy Spirit.
Heavenly Father, I worship you as the creator and sustainer of the universe.
Lord Jesus, I worship you, Savior and Lord of the world.
Holy Spirit, I worship you, sanctifier of the people of God.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Heavenly Father, I pray that I may live this day in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life:
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Holy, blessed and glorious Trinity, three persons in one God, have mercy upon me.
Amen.
PRAYER IS CENTRAL TO OUR LIFE WITH GOD!
Prayer is as central to our life with God as is breathing for the life of our bodies. Our spiritual
lives cannot survive and will definitely not thrive without talking with our Creator.
One simple way of praying is by using an acrostic like ACTS.
(Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication).
Adoration is praise; recognizing who God is and seeking to give Him the praise and
worship due Him.
Confession calls to mind and states any sin or anything that is contrary to God’s will for us and anything that damages our relationship with God or others.
Thanksgiving is like praise but it expresses thanks to God as the Giver and we are the
receivers of His blessings.
To Supplicate is to ask God for the needs of our friends, family ourselves and the world.
Example: Father, you are great and greatly to be praised! We bless you for your goodness and holiness. I confess that I have sinned in thought, word and deed in these things I have done (be
specific) and these things I have left undone (be specific). Thank you for your many blessings (like what?) and especially for forgiving me in Christ Jesus. Father, you know my needs before I ask but I ask for your blessing in these ways…Amen.
